Fair Lawn’s Memorial Park along the Passaic River is a great place for family-friendly events and activities. From the popular free summertime concert series to the Lions Club’s annual Car & Motorcycle Show in September, the park’s welcoming open space and extensive facilities draw thousands of local residents and visitors to the borough every year. Representatives of the nearby businesses and restaurants in Fair Lawn’s River Road District want the park’s visitors to know a warm welcome plus great dining, shopping and services are just blocks away.

The River Road Improvement Corporation (RRIC), which represents the business and commercial property owners in Fair Lawn’s River Road District, backs up its commitment to the local community by sponsoring one of the concerts each summer at Memorial Park. Individual River Road District business owners are also among the concert series’ sponsors including Community Bank of Bergen County, Columbia Bank, Kuiken Brothers, ShopRite of Fair Lawn and Wrubel Communications.

“We believe our friendly, neighborhood business district provides tremendous added value for people attending events at Memorial Park,” noted Bob Landzettel of Landzettel and Sons on River Road and the RRIC’s President. “Easy access off of Berdan Avenue to River Road, lots of new businesses and places to eat along with old favorites, and plenty of convenient free parking make the River Road District a great option for park visitors who want to dine and shop locally.”

Dan Stenchever, Lions Club Vice District Governor and President of Pro Forma Garden State Graphics in Glen Rock, appreciates the RRIC’s support and happily recommends stores and restaurants in the district to show goers. The NJ Lions District 16A Charitable Foundation will present its 8th Annual Car & Motorcycle Show on Sunday, September 8th, from 9:00 am till 3:00 pm, rain or shine, at the Memorial Pool Parking Lot.

Visitors will enjoy an array of more than 100 amazing vehicles ranging from street rods to antique cars, plus plenty of “muscle car” favorites like Chargers, Mustangs, Corvettes and more as well as vintage and customized classic motorcycles. At the same time, their donations will support the Lions Club’s charitable work on behalf of several foundations for the visually impaired.

“Our goal is to raise awareness and support for the Lions Club’s mission, and this event is an important part of our efforts each year,” Stenchever pointed out. “The fact that Memorial Park has excellent facilities and that visitors find great dining and shopping conveniently close by helps us attract more people and that in turn helps us get closer to our goals.”
